Overview
Black Parachute Ears consists of 67 unframed monochrome prints, each measuring 20×24 inches (approximately 51×61 cm).
This exhibition was held as the first installment of the KAWASAKI CITY MUSEUM’s special exhibition series, Matrix of Photography. It presented Black Parachute Ears, his latest work, alongside past pieces, as an installation that utilized the entire museum space.
For this exhibition, he received the 19th Ken Domon Prize (2000). To commemorate the award, an exhibition of the same name was held at the Ginza Nikon Salon in 2000.
Some of these prints are now part of the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago and the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo.

Black Parachute Earsは、額装されていないモノクロームプリント67点で構成され、各作品は20×24インチである。
本展は川崎民ミュージアムの企画展「Matrix of Photography」の第一弾として開催され、美術館空間全体を利用したインスタレーションとして、最新作Black Parachute Earsと過去の作品を併せて展示した。
本展覧会により、第19回土門拳賞（2000年）を受賞。受賞を記念し、2000年に銀座ニコンサロンで同名の展覧会が開催された。
これらのプリントの一部は現在、シカゴ美術館および東京国立近代美術館の所蔵品となっている。
